Project / Production Department Manager

Full-Time | Los Angeles Area | $95,000 Base + Vehicle Allowance + Gas Card

We're seeking a Production Department Manager to lead all field operations, drive revenue and gross profit performance, oversee subcontractors, and deliver projects on time with exceptional quality. This role owns the full production cycle - planning, execution, financial oversight, team management, and client escalations.


? Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

  • Lead daily/weekly production rhythms (DSU, risk reviews) to ensure projects meet revenue and gross profit goals.
  • Oversee all active jobs, project scheduling, status updates, and quality control.
  • Maintain and publish the twice-weekly Production Report.

Financial Management

  • Manage billing, collections, and cash flow to keep receivables healthy.
  • Approve subcontractor payouts and vendor invoices.
  • Own end-of-month reporting for revenue, gross profit, and variances.
  • Publish the AR Report twice weekly.

Client & Contract Oversight

  • Act as senior escalation point for client issues.
  • Ensure consistent, professional communication from the production team.
  • Review GC agreements and advise leadership on terms and risks.

Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain all required licenses and keep operational documentation current.
  • Oversee subcontractor compliance, insurance, onboarding, and performance.

? Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in construction, field services, or specialty contracting leadership.
  • Proven success managing high-volume, short- and long-duration projects (100+ concurrently).
  • Strong financial acumen: billing, cash flow, forecasting, and EOM reporting.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.
  • Excellent client communication and issue resolution skills.
  • Exceptional organization, follow-through, and multi-tasking ability.

? Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in masonry, concrete, waterproofing, or similar trades.
  • Experience in home services or residential/commercial specialty contracting.
  • Prior Operations Manager, Project Manager, or GM experience.
  • Familiarity with project management/CRM systems and licensing compliance workflows.
